Obituary for Sheryl Denise Williams

Sheryl Denise Williams, 57, Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Tuesday February 11, 2014 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence, KS. Sheryl was born July 24, 1956 in Long Beach, California, to Bill and Shirley Jane (Rogers) Williams.

A graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, Class of 1974, in La Palma, CA Sheryl became a firefighter in 1978 with the California Department of Forestry. She joined the Orange County California Fire Department in 1980 serving for several years leaving the service after a fall injury.

She became a Psychology Technician in 2002 and served in various mental facilities until her retirement in 2012.

Sheryl was a member of The National Association for Gun Rights, The Orange County Fire Benevolent Association and was an Assistant Scout master with Boy Scouts of America

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Shirley Williams and brothers Roger and Billy Williams

Sheryl is survived by brother; Frank and wife Stephanie Williams of California, daughter; Dawn and husband Cory Monson, sons Jeremy and Christopher Williams, grandsons Kyler, Patrick, Ethan, Caleb, and Gabriel; and many nieces nephews.

Funeral services will be held, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
